Arizona Statewide Economic Study 2002
To develop sound strategies and make investments that ensure economic vitality in the next decade, the Arizona Department of Commerce (ADOC) Planning, Research and Policy Office conducted a Statewide Economic Study (SES).
In Part 1, Arizona’s universities - Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and University of Arizona - developed an economic base study, special sector reports and a general statewide infrastructure assessment.
In Part 2, Economy.com and the Batelle Technology Partnership Practice were retained to analyze emerging global industries and business trends and assess the research competencies of Arizona’s universities to identify opportunities and impacts. Parts 3-5 were awarded to the Phoenix firm of Elliott D. Pollack and Company to conduct presentations on Parts 1 and 2 throughout Arizona and integrate all the elements into strategic findings to guide the development of the State’s long-range economic roadmap.
